Narges Mohammadi has been sentenced to another year in prison by the Revolutionary Court.
Mustafa Nili, Narges Mohammadi’s lawyer and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, announced the new one-year prison sentence of his client, a human rights activist, on his Twitter account.
The lawyer stated on Tuesday, June 18th, on the X network that the human rights activist has been sentenced to one year in prison by Branch 29 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court on charges of anti-regime propaganda.
Mr. Nili mentioned that the reasons for this sentence include Narges Mohammadi’s statements about the sexual assault on Dina Ghalebaf, her letter regarding the election sanctions on the parliament, and letters to the parliaments of Sweden and Norway.
Over the past three years, Narges Mohammadi has been tried six times in revolutionary and criminal courts, receiving a total sentence of thirteen years and three months in prison, 154 lashes, exile, and four months of street banishment.
She has been tried and convicted four times for protesting, exposing, and recounting the sexual harassment and abuse by government officials.
