A member of the National Security Commission says military measures regarding the Strait of Hormuz have been completed
Mohammad Esmail Kowsari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Parliament, said today, Monday, July 14, that military actions concerning the Strait of Hormuz have been completed, but no decision has yet been made to close it, and it is under review.
He told Al-Mayadeen network that Iran has not left the negotiating table, but the other side disrupted it and then violated Iran, so currently there is no possibility of returning to negotiations, and returning to them has conditions.
Mr. Kowsari had said on June 23, a day before the ceasefire between Israel and Iran, that closing the Strait of Hormuz is on our agenda, and it will definitely and certainly be done whenever necessary at any time needed.
Also, the withdrawal from the NPT is under discussion and review, but for a decision to be made about it, it is being discussed in the relevant authorities.
Masoud Pezeshkian said in May this year that if energy is not transferred from the Persian Gulf starting today, they, meaning the US and Europe, will be paralyzed.
The hardline newspaper Kayhan in Tehran interpreted this statement as a threat to close the Strait of Hormuz.
