NATO is conducting its largest military exercise.
According to Reuters, NATO is holding its largest military exercise since the Cold War.
The purpose of this exercise is to practice strengthening and equipping European allies of the United States, who are located in countries bordering Russia, in the event of a conflict with an enemy.
Chris Caulfield, the senior commander of this coalition, said that 90,000 troops are expected to participate in this exercise, which will continue until May.
According to NATO, more than 50 ships, ranging from aircraft carriers to destroyers, as well as over 80 fighter jets, helicopters, drones, and at least 1,100 military vehicles including 133 tanks and 533 infantry fighting vehicles, will be present in this major exercise.
The participating forces in this exercise, which includes personnel deployment simulations to Europe and ground operations, will come from NATO member countries and Sweden, which hopes to join this coalition soon.
Caulfield stated that regional NATO plans and details of how to respond to a Russian attack will be examined and practiced in this exercise.
