Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, arrived in Tehran at the head of a high-ranking delegation from the Kurdistan Region.

Nazem Dabbagh, the representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Tehran, said about Nechirvan Barzani’s official trip to Tehran that the President of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation including Sheikh Jaafar Sheikh Mustafa, Deputy President of the Kurdistan Region, Mustafa Said Qader, Deputy President of the Kurdistan Region, Dilshad Shahab, Senior Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region, Rebar Ahmed, Minister of Interior of the Kurdistan Region, Fawzi Hariri, Chief of Staff, Abdullah Akreyi, Advisor to the President of the Kurdistan Region on Iranian Affairs, arrived in Tehran at noon today, Sunday, May 6.

He added in his remarks that during this official visit, the President of the Kurdistan Region is scheduled to meet and consult with senior Iranian officials, including Seyed Ebrahim Raisi, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

The representative of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Tehran said about the objectives of Nechirvan Barzani’s visit to Iran that the President of the Kurdistan Region has traveled to Tehran with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region, examining the most important regional issues, expanding Tehran-Erbil relations, and will meet and discuss with senior Iranian officials.
