Netanyahu: Mohammed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas, has been killed

Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, announced on Wednesday, May 27th, that Mohammed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas in Gaza and the younger brother of Yahya Sinwar, the former leader of this group, has been killed in Israeli army airstrikes.

Sinwar was targeted by Israeli airstrikes at a hospital in southern Gaza early last month.

Netanyahu had previously stated that the Hamas leader was likely killed in these attacks.

Netanyahu said in the Israeli parliament that in the past two days we have reached a critical point on the path to the complete defeat of Hamas.
