A new appointment in the circle of controversial managers, from astronomical properties to the board of directors of Atiyeh Damavand
Mahmoud Shayan, the controversial CEO of the Bank of Industry and Mines, whose managerial record at National and Housing Banks has been criticized by experts and banking activists for years, has now made a noteworthy decision by appointing Abouzar Mokhtari, the dismissed and controversial director of Tehran Municipality’s Real Estate Organization, to the board of directors of Atiyeh Damavand Investment Group.
This appointment has raised the question for many as to whether the selection pool for managers in the country has become so limited that controversial figures with ambiguous records continue to be passed around between managerial positions.
In recent years, Abouzar Mokhtari has consistently been at the center of controversies due to his name being associated with the astronomical properties scandal and extensive ambiguities surrounding his multi-billion wealth. These controversies apparently have not only failed to hinder his managerial path but have now provided him with a new platform.
