New details on the IRGC’s operation against terrorists from the words of the IRGC Ground Force Commander
Commander Pakpour: In this operation, we targeted bases that were not near populated areas and were bases that had been hit in previous operations. Terrorists had re-established themselves there, and we targeted them with missiles and combat and suicide drones. We also targeted border-side bases with artillery.
There are several locations that I will name to show that we have full awareness of all of them. We have previously informed the authorities of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and the central Iraqi government of their names.
An area called Bakr Jo in the Sulaymaniyah region is one of the areas where, after we destroyed their bases, they settled. This is a region where ordinary people are also present. The people of Bakr Jo must expel these terrorists to ensure their security.
Topuzabad is another area, a village where they have set up a camp next to it and are stationed there. We will definitely target them in future operations. The city of Koy Sanjaq itself, the surrounding villages, and the fortress that the terrorists have are some points like Azadi and Amiriyeh where they have settled, which are populated centers.
We certainly have considerations to ensure that innocent people and families are not hit. We are now informing all these dear ones that we do not know if families are stationed in the areas where these individuals are present or not. Ultimately, for our own security, we will target them.
