North Korea launched two missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads

According to information from the South Korean military, North Korea has launched at least two missiles potentially capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff in Seoul announced on Sunday, December 18, that these projectiles were launched from the Tongchang-ri area in North Pyongan Province and flew towards the Sea of Japan, which is referred to as the East Sea in Korea.

The Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of South Korea said in this regard that our military, in close cooperation with the United States, has increased surveillance.

As reported by the Japanese radio network NHK, citing unnamed government officials, the missile fell into the sea outside Japan’s economic zone.

Toshiro Ino, Japan’s Deputy Minister of Defense, called the missile launches completely unacceptable. He added that this action threatens the peace and security of our country, this region, and the international community.
