North Korea will stand by Russia until victory

North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui publicly declared her country’s support for Russia in the Ukraine war. In a meeting with her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Moscow, Choe said, ‘We once again pledge to stand by our Russian comrades until the day of victory.’ She described Russia’s military attack on Ukraine, which has continued for more than two years, as a sacred struggle.

Lavrov also spoke about the close cooperation between the military forces and security agencies of the two countries and emphasized that these relations can achieve important security goals for our citizens and theirs. He thanked North Korea for its principled stance on the events in Ukraine.

So far, neither Moscow nor Pyongyang have denied reports about the deployment of North Korean soldiers. Lavrov and Choe also did not mention this issue in their statements.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has personally not denied the presence of North Korean soldiers on Russian soil and has pointed out that Ukraine also makes use of forces from NATO member countries.
