One third of Iranians are renters.

According to the report from the Statistical Center of Iran in 2021, about 68.3% of Iranians owned homes, 23.2% were renters, and 8.5% lived in organizational, endowment, or free housing.

It can cautiously be said that 32% of Iranians do not own their homes. The word ‘cautiously’ is used here because 8.5% of Iranians live in free housing.

According to statistics, households with owned homes were about 68.5% in 2016, which increased by 20.5% by the end of 2021.
