Pakistani airstrike on eastern Afghanistan leaves eight dead

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, announced in a statement released on Monday morning, March 18, that at least eight civilians lost their lives following a Pakistani airstrike on eastern Afghanistan.

According to the French news agency, the statement mentioned that around 3 a.m. local time, Pakistani aircraft bombed civilian homes in the two provinces of Khost and Paktika.

According to Zabihullah Mujahid, during these attacks, three children and three women in Paktika and two other women in Khost were killed.

The Taliban spokesperson strongly condemned these attacks and described them as a violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.

Border tensions at the Pakistan-Afghanistan frontier have doubled since the Taliban came to power.
