We are following up on the possibility of Ms. Sepideh Rashno being beaten in detention, says a member of parliament.
Rashid Kouhi, a member of parliament, said regarding the situation of Sepideh Rashno, from the very beginning when that video was released and she was arrested, we conducted follow-ups. After that, she had an interview on television, and strong suspicions were raised that she might have been beaten during her detention. We are following up on these issues, but outside the media space because we want to investigate and announce the precise results to the public in the near future. These suspicions may not be very accurate, so we must first ensure and then speak, but I am pursuing this matter with special attention.
Following the release of a video showing an altercation between two women on a bus over the hijab, Sepideh Rashno was arrested. A case was filed against her in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court on charges of gathering and colluding with the intent to commit a crime against national security through connections with expatriates, engaging in propaganda activities against the Islamic Republic, and encouraging people to corruption and prostitution.
