Performance Report of the Ministry of Communications on Increasing Internet Speed
Even though users complain about the internet situation from morning till night and are quite frustrated, the Ministry of Information has presented the increase in internet speed as one of its achievements over the past year. It has also considered the blocking and disruption of VPNs, which essentially disrupts the daily online activities of citizens, as an achievement and a future plan. The Ministry of Communications, citing statistics from the SpeedTest website, has announced that mobile and fixed internet speeds have increased over the past year. Providing free internet for vulnerable groups following a significant increase in internet tariffs, a 14% advancement in the national information network, and activating the Safe Search feature in search engines are other achievements mentioned.
The report also refers to plans that have not yet been realized, and in the section on sanitizing the virtual space, the need to intensify the fight against VPN filters is mentioned.
