Pezeshkian: The shared perspective of Tehran and Beijing on reducing tensions is a basis for constructive cooperation.
Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, appreciated Xi Jinping’s stance in supporting the return of Iran and the United States to the Islamabad Agreement and resolving differences through dialogue and negotiation. Pezeshkian wrote on the social network X that Iran also emphasizes returning to this agreement, fulfilling the agreed commitments, and creating a foundation for serious and result-oriented negotiations. The Iranian President added that the shared perspective of Tehran and Beijing on respecting the sovereignty of countries, reducing tensions, and maintaining regional peace and stability can be an important basis for constructive cooperation between the two countries. Xi Jinping also mentioned in a recent meeting with Donald Trump that China supports the return of the United States and Iran to the framework of the Islamabad Agreement and desires to continue the diplomatic path to achieve a comprehensive agreement.
