Plainclothes attacked the Nassaji players
The fifth week of the final stage of the Iranian Youth Premier League was held in Shiraz between the two teams, Iman Sabz Shiraz and Nassaji Mazandaran, and this match had a bitter end.
While the match between the two teams was goalless until the final moments, in the 110th minute, the referee awarded a penalty in favor of the Shiraz team, and the scoring of this penalty marked the beginning of the bitter events of this match.
Nassaji lost this game 1-0, but the organizers of this game lost everything.
Apparently, the Nassaji bench and the referees’ area were next to each other, and the Nassaji club officials protested at the end of the game due to the penalty call and what they perceived as biased refereeing in favor of the host team. According to Nassaji club officials, people present at the stadium used pepper spray to calm the situation between the Nassaji staff and the referee team, which took the course of this game to a new phase.
The Nassaji players and staff stated that this was not even the end, as inside the Nassaji locker room, the players were also pepper-sprayed by the Shiraz club officials, causing all the Nassaji players and staff to endure difficult moments in Shiraz.
We have to wait and see what decision the Football Federation and the League Organization will make regarding this matter.
