Possibility of the Central Bank Governor’s resignation following the rise in the dollar’s price
Simultaneously with the momentary increase in prices in the currency and gold markets and the setting of new records, media in Iran reported demands for the Central Bank Governor’s resignation.
According to Iranian media reports, the US dollar’s price in the open currency market surpassed 38,000 tomans on Tuesday, December 13, and the price of a full coin also exceeded 19 million tomans.
In recent days, some media in Iran have written that Masoud Mir-Kazemi, the head of the Planning and Budget Organization, intends to resign from this position and has stated that he will leave the government after presenting and approving next year’s budget.
There have also been rumors about Ali Salehabadi stepping down from the presidency of the Central Bank, which he himself has denied.
