The Possibility of Closure for the Opal Shopping Center
With the increasing refusal of women to adhere to mandatory hijab following protests, the Islamic Republic’s police command has implemented new plans to intensify pressure on opponents of mandatory hijab. This includes sealing business units and denying women public services as part of these new measures.
As part of this plan, some restaurants owned by celebrities and large shopping centers have received warnings of closure for serving customers without mandatory hijab, and some have already been sealed.
The board of directors of the Opal Shopping Center in Tehran has also received multiple warnings from the Department of Public Places.
