The European Union urges to prevent escalation of tensions in the region
Josep Borrell, the EU’s foreign policy chief, called on all parties to avoid escalating tensions in the Middle East following the recent attacks by the US on Iranian-affiliated groups in Syria and Iraq.
Mr. Borrell stated during the EU foreign ministers’ meeting in Brussels that everyone should make efforts to prevent the situation from worsening.
The EU’s foreign policy chief warned, without mentioning these attacks, that the Middle East is a powder keg that could explode at any moment.
