Prevention of the Commemoration Ceremony for Simin Daneshvar’s Death Anniversary
Mohammad Hossein Danaei, nephew of Jalal Al-e Ahmad, has stated that the ceremony for Simin Daneshvar’s death anniversary was not allowed to take place due to its coincidence with the Sha’baniyah celebrations.
He has said, where should this pain be taken, to whom should it be told that some tasteless officials do not even allow the homeowner into their own house?
According to Jalal Al-e Ahmad’s nephew, the prevention of this ceremony took place while the same house is regularly used as a location for other programs with financial motives.
The house museum, the residence of Simin Daneshvar and her husband Jalal Al-e Ahmad, is under the control of Tehran Municipality.
A group of family members and admirers of Simin and Jalal had requested officials from the Cultural Spaces Development Company, affiliated with Tehran Municipality, to hold a memorial ceremony at the same residence at their own expense, but it was met with prevention.
