The Prison Organization Denies Assault on Female Prisoners

The Prison Organization in Iran has denied assault on female prisoners, stating that no reports of assaults in women’s prisons have been recorded so far.

The organization explained the falsehood of reports about assault and sexual harassment by stating that male and female prisoners are segregated, and the care of female prisoners is handled by female staff of the prison organization.

The organization also states that women’s prisons are regularly inspected by sending specialists and special inspectors from the national prison organization.

The Prison Organization denies reports of sexual harassment while some security detention centers are not under its supervision. Additionally, in the past three months, several videos have been released showing special unit officers sexually assaulting protesting women in broad daylight and in public places.
