Professional swimmer dies at Enqelab Sports Complex

Alireza Bombay, a professional swimmer, passed away at the pool of Enqelab Sports Complex in Tehran.

Ana News Agency wrote that the lifeguards who work at this pool were not present in the hall during those minutes and arrived at the scene after a few minutes.

The manager of Enqelab Complex, which is one of the most expensive sports venues in Iran, confirmed the swimmer’s professionalism, who lost his life this Sunday morning, saying he was a member of our complex and came to the pool today with one of his friends. He had a seizure underwater and apparently had an underlying condition.

Mohammad Mohammadi, a former goalkeeper for Persepolis and Esteghlal, denied the absence of lifeguards at the time of the incident, saying they quickly pulled him out of the water, but because the seizure happened underwater, resuscitation was unsuccessful. We informed the police, and a report was filed. The forensic medicine took the body to provide an expert opinion.
