Protest of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad Employees
The protest against the salary and benefits situation in the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad continues. According to the employees, the average salary of the ministry’s staff is around 15 million tomans, a figure that is completely unacceptable and unsustainable given the inflationary conditions and the high cost of living in the country.
The employees of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad say that for years they have been pursuing salary increases and the elimination of discrimination through all legal and administrative channels, but no attention has been paid to their demands and gatherings.
Meanwhile, the salaries of employees in some ministries such as Oil, Energy, and Economy are 5 to 10 times higher than those of Agriculture Jihad employees.
The protesters say that in one ministry, an employee with 20 years of experience only receives 15 million tomans, whereas in the Ministry of Oil, with the same experience, the salary can reach up to 100 million tomans along with non-cash benefits.
They ask, ‘Are we not Iranians? Are we not employees of the same government? Why should there be such a severe gap among the staff of different departments?’
Meanwhile, reports indicate that the managers and heads of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad enjoy substantial salaries and benefits but are indifferent to the living conditions of their subordinates and take no action to reform the payment structure to avoid jeopardizing their positions.
Representatives of this group of employees have announced that they have exhausted all legal avenues to claim their rights, but have achieved no results.
Now, they have released images of employment orders, pay slips, and protest gatherings, asking the media to convey the voice of 64,000 employees and their families, totaling about 300,000 people, to the authorities.
In conclusion, the employees of the Ministry of Agriculture Jihad have addressed the government and parliament, emphasizing
In a situation where the cost of living is increasing day by day, we also demand justice in the payment system and the alignment of Agriculture Jihad employees’ salaries with those of wealthier ministries like Oil and Energy.
Continuing this situation means blatant injustice within the government body.
