Protesters against the poisoning of students were summoned again for the execution of their prison sentence.

Zia Nabavi, an activist for the right to education, reported that he and Hasti Amiri, a student activist from Allameh University, were summoned again for the execution of a one-year prison sentence. Previously, the execution of this sentence had been suspended once.

On April 2, Mr. Nabavi wrote on his X account that two weeks before the New Year, they received a summons and were told to present themselves to prison within five days, otherwise an arrest warrant would be issued.

He said that after the efforts of the lawyers, it was decided that the execution of the sentence would be postponed until after the Nowruz holidays.

Mr. Nabavi said that on April 7, he and Hasti Amiri will report to the Evin prison for the execution of the sentence.

Last year, the Revolutionary Court in Tehran confirmed a one-year prison sentence for Hasti Amiri and Zia Nabavi due to their protest against the serial poisonings in some schools in Iran.

The issuance of this sentence is due to their participation in a protest gathering held on March 7, 2023.

In November 2023, when Mr. Nabavi and Ms. Amiri went to Evin prison after being summoned for the execution of the sentence, they were told that due to ambiguities in the case and until further review and announcement, they are temporarily free.
