Qalibaf and Araqchi headed to Oman for talks about managing the Strait of Hormuz

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, headed to Oman for talks about what has been described as Iranian arrangements for managing the Strait of Hormuz, just hours after returning from negotiations in Switzerland.

Iranian media reported that Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s chief negotiator, is also present on this trip and will meet with Qalibaf and Haitham bin Tariq, the Sultan of Oman. According to Iranian officials, expanding bilateral cooperation is also a focus of this trip.

This trip takes place after the conclusion of the first round of negotiations between Iran and the United States in Switzerland and the return of the Iranian delegation to Tehran.

Meanwhile, Masoud Pezeshkian’s office announced that the President of Iran will make a one-day trip to Pakistan on Tuesday. According to the official announcement, the purpose of this trip is to express gratitude for Pakistan’s role in mediating between Iran and the United States and to expand the economic relations between the two countries.
