Qatari Airline Plane Involved in Incident While Crossing Turkish Airspace

A Qatar Airways plane was involved in an accident while passing through Turkish airspace.

Dublin Airport authorities announced on Monday afternoon that a Boeing aircraft belonging to a Qatari company had an accident while passing through Turkish airspace due to hitting air pockets.

In this incident, 12 passengers of the Qatar Airways were injured, and eight of the injured were hospitalized. The Qatari plane was heading from Doha to Dublin on Monday.

According to ISNA citing the Associated Press, Dublin Airport stated in a statement that flight QR017, a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, landed safely before 1 pm local time as scheduled.

The statement mentioned that the aircraft encountered turbulence during the flight over Turkey, and emergency vehicles were waiting for it upon landing.

This incident occurs five days after a Singapore Airlines plane hit air pockets over the Indian Ocean en route from London to Singapore, where a British man apparently lost his life due to a heart attack, and dozens of others were injured.
