Rasaei, after a 10-month prison sentence: I am not ashamed and I will not apologize
Hamid Rasaei, a Tehran representative, in response to his 10-month prison sentence, announced that he will go to the judiciary to implement the sentence, even though he considers this ruling to be illegal and political. Rasaei said he sees no reason to apologize in this case and added, ‘I am not ashamed at all and I feel proud in front of the Iranian people.’ He further claimed that those who should be ashamed are those who have committed economic corruption or what he called a political coup. Rasaei’s case relates to a complaint by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf about the content published in the 9 Dey weekly, and the court sentenced him to 10 months of imprisonment.
