Rashidi Kochi, a member of parliament, says importing a mobile phone is not worth creating so much dissatisfaction.
Rashidi Kochi said, ‘It is unclear what hidden hand is at work that differentiates between a $1200 iPhone and a $1200 Samsung. They grant a permit for Samsung within 72 hours, but they don’t even give a permit for a travel iPhone. We must see who the Samsung importer in Iran is and what happens if iPhone imports are eliminated. Certainly, with this event, the market becomes monopolized. Some radical individuals who are now empowered in Mr. Raisi’s government and also in parliament immediately take a defensive stance whenever we raise even the smallest question from the government in parliament, claiming that so-and-so stands against the leadership. Why do we harm the country’s system and the revolution with wrong decisions and hiding behind the Supreme Leader to justify our wrong decisions? This type of outlook is dangerous.’
