The Ham-Mihan newspaper’s reaction to Raisi’s trip to Africa: Barter trade with some countries is not an achievement.

The Ham-Mihan newspaper has reacted to the achievements of Ebrahim Raisi’s trip to Africa, stating that bartering goods with some countries is no longer an achievement but rather a concerning regression.

In its main headline titled ‘Oil and Goods Barter Made Official,’ the newspaper wrote that the president of the thirteenth government considered the agreement on oil and goods barter as one of the significant achievements of his trip to three African countries, stating that Africa is the land of opportunities.

The Ham-Mihan newspaper wrote in this article that there was a time when this barter was with countries like Russia and China, but these days Iran’s bartering has expanded to many countries. For example, Iran is bartering goods and supplying essential goods with Iraq instead of receiving foreign currency from electricity exports. Now, the scope of Iran’s barter has reached African countries as well.

The report states that African countries themselves are grappling with numerous issues in managing their affairs, and the main reason for the increase in trade exchanges through barter in Iran’s economy, alongside sanctions, is Iran’s entry into the FATF blacklist.
