Hamas' reaction to the ceasefire plan ready to start negotiations

Hamas’s response to the ceasefire plan is ready to start negotiations.

Hamas says it has presented its response to the three-stage ceasefire plan in Gaza to the mediators, Qatar and Egypt, who, along with the US, have been mediating in the negotiations between Israel and Hamas. They confirmed that Hamas has given its response. Hamas stated that this response prioritizes the interests of our Palestinian people and emphasizes the need for a complete halt to the current attacks on Gaza.

However, one senior Hamas official told BBC that Israel’s commitment to a permanent ceasefire is still needed.

The proposed ceasefire plan, approved by the UN Security Council on Tuesday night, calls for a six-seven week ceasefire that will ultimately become permanent.

In its statement on Tuesday evening, Hamas called for a complete cessation of hostilities in Gaza.
