Release of 8 Iranian sailors from Qatari prisons

Askar Jalalian, Deputy for Human Rights and International Affairs at the Ministry of Justice of the Islamic Republic, announced the release of 8 Iranian sailors who were imprisoned in Qatari jails. These 8 individuals entered Iran through Shiraz airport.

This is the third group of Iranian sailors this year who have been imprisoned in Qatar and subsequently released.

The Iranian sailors are mainly residents of the provinces of Bushehr, Hormozgan, and Khuzestan, who enter the territorial waters of neighboring countries due to being caught in storms.
