Replaying a Two-Player Game

Repeatedly losing a two-player game

Once again, the recruitment plan for assassinating American officials failed, and those who should learn a lesson have not taken heed. A Pakistani citizen named Asef Merchant, 46 years old, who had moved to Texas after living in Iran, quickly reported his plan to recruit forces for assassinating important American figures to the FBI. The federal police in the US set up a special operation to trap him and documented his attempt to recruit hitmen. Although his targets were not mentioned in the charges, reporters have learned that Trump was one of his targets. Asef was arrested in Pennsylvania one day before the planned assassination while trying to leave the US. During his communication with individuals who were actually FBI agents, he revealed his plans of stealing key government documents and USBs containing confidential information, organizing disruptive protests, and carrying out assassination operations. The FBI chief described this Pakistani as sympathetic to Iran and his plans as following an Iranian pattern and guidelines. This is not the first time this path and game have been tested, wasting time and money, bringing disgrace, and worsening the situation for Iranians residing in the US, especially those with student and work visas, making it more unfavorable than before.
