Residents of Underprivileged Areas in the Capital to Receive Free Insurance

1 Min Read

Residents of underprivileged areas of the capital will be insured for free.

Dr. Alireza Namazi, the head of the Health Insurance Department of Tehran Province, said

In Tehran, 259 underprivileged areas have been identified, and the free insurance plan for the three lowest income brackets in these areas started in the Shush and Harandi regions, covering 176,000 people. Now, there should be no one in Tehran without insurance. The important point is that the insurance policies of all these people who received free insurance have been automatically extended until July 2023. If anyone remains, they should visit for a means assessment.

Since this process takes time, they can have free insurance for up to three months until the means assessment response is received. The fourth income bracket pays 10%, the fifth and sixth income brackets pay 25%, the seventh and eighth income brackets pay 50%, and the ninth and tenth income brackets must pay 100% of the insurance share.
