Following the acceptance of Rostam Qasemi’s resignation by the President, Shahriar Afandi Zadeh, the Deputy Minister of Transportation, was appointed as the acting Minister of Roads and Urban Development while retaining his previous position.

Previously, there were rumors about Sardar Fakhari taking over as the acting head of this ministry, but with his appointment as the Governor of Tehran, this possibility was ruled out.
