Reuters: The U.S. military might collect some of its personnel’s mobile phones

Reuters news agency, quoting informed sources, reported that the U.S. military might require some of the forces stationed in the Middle East to hand over their mobile phones. According to two sources, some American forces in Jordan have been informed that their phones will be confiscated in the coming days, although another source said this action is still under consideration.

Reuters also mentioned a letter from Admiral Brad Cooper, the commander of CENTCOM, in which he warned that the release of images and videos recorded by mobile phones by American forces could help Iran assess the success or failure of its attacks in the near future. He has asked the forces to adhere more strictly to operational security principles.

According to Reuters, Cooper stated in this letter that the release of attack details and images of targeted bases could assist Iran in planning future attacks. The report adds that since the beginning of the war on February 28, 18 American soldiers have been killed and more than 600 injured.
