Reuters: Today, hundreds of Iranians entered Turkey through the land border

Reuters news agency reported on Monday, citing eyewitnesses, that as the war between the US and Israel against Iran continues, hundreds of Iranians have crossed the border and entered Turkish territory.

On Monday morning, Turkey had announced that it would not allow daily travelers from Iran to enter for the time being. However, an eyewitness told Reuters that hundreds of Iranian citizens have entered the country through the Kapikoy border crossing.

According to this eyewitness, Iranian travelers have reported fear in Tehran and long lines in front of gas stations.

Before the conflicts began, Turkey had tried to play the role of mediator and, like Qatar and Saudi Arabia, had expressed its opposition to the escalation of war in the region. One of Ankara’s concerns has been the potential large-scale entry of Iranian citizens following escalating tensions.
