Rezai after the Tehran quadrilateral meeting: We should secure the region ourselves; foreign intervention must end.

Mohsen Rezai, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, said after the quadrilateral meeting of Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia that the parties have concluded that the security of West Asia should be endogenous and foreign intervention should be prevented. He noted that the visit of senior officials from the three countries to Tehran demonstrated that U.S. threats have little impact on the decisions of world countries. Rezai also attributed the formation of a positive atmosphere in regional dialogues to the resistance of the Iranian people and the power of the armed forces. According to Rezai, the officials present considered the cooperation of the four countries as the solution to the region’s problems. He added that the meeting emphasized stopping Israeli attacks and its withdrawal from southern Lebanon, southern Syria, Gaza, and the West Bank.
