Ebrahim Rezai, the spokesperson for the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, claimed on Monday, June 8, that according to the head of the Atomic Energy Organization, a contract has been signed with Russia to build eight nuclear power plants in the country, four of which will be constructed in the Bushehr province.
He made these remarks during a visit by members of the National Security Commission to the Atomic Energy Organization and said that the nuclear industry cannot be shut down, and the Islamic Consultative Assembly stands firm to support it to the last breath.
However, so far, no official document regarding the details or timeline of this contract has been released by the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran or Russian sources.
