Richard Grenell appointed as the head of special missions in the Trump administration
Richard Grenell, the former U.S. ambassador to Germany, has been appointed to a new mission in Donald Trump’s upcoming administration. He will serve as the head of special missions.
Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, which he launched himself, that Rick will work in some of the world’s hottest crisis spots, including Venezuela and North Korea. He added that Grenell should strive for peace through strength.
During Trump’s first term as president, Grenell served as the U.S. ambassador to Germany. Unlike many other diplomats, he openly voiced criticisms, for instance, about Germany’s financial contributions to NATO and its trade with Iran.
