Ruhollah Sohrabi threatens the organizers of Fajr Film Festival

On Monday, February 5th, 2023, Ruhollah Sohrabi, the Director of Supervision over Distribution and Screening at the Cinematic Organization, issued a note threatening the organizers of Fajr Film Festival.

Sohrabi, stating that sanctions mean soft warfare, referred to the sanctioners as combatants. He wrote that as long as the Islamic Republic is established and the cinema light is on, and Fajr Film Festival is held in its cultural and artistic sphere, they should not make films, act, or participate in festivals.

In continuation of his threatening note, this cinema director wrote that they are observers of the behavior of those who beat the drum of this fight.

This cinema director’s note is published while some directors, actors, and film crew members have refrained from participating in the festival and boycotted it.
