Russia: If Kyiv receives US long-range missiles, we will expand the buffer zone

The Kremlin announced on Wednesday that if Kyiv receives advanced guided missile systems known as ATACMS from the United States, Russia will push Ukrainian forces further back to expand what it calls the buffer zone.

The White House had announced last October that it had provided Kyiv with a type of advanced guided missile system capable of targeting up to 165 kilometers.

However, the new package, ready to be delivered to Ukraine after the aid bill is approved in Congress, will include a more advanced system with a range of over 300 kilometers.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Monday that the country will receive the advanced long-range missile system and expressed gratitude to Washington for this.
