Russia is ready to help resolve the disputes between Iran and the United States
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister announced that Moscow is ready to assist in the peaceful resolution of disputes between Iran and the United States, as well as between Tehran and Arab countries. He said that Russia welcomes providing a platform for dialogue between Iran and Arab countries but does not intend to impose such a role on the parties.
In an interview with the Izvestia newspaper, Alexander Alimov also spoke about the U.S. military presence in regional countries, stating that the deployment of foreign military infrastructure is a sovereign decision and right of each country. However, the presence of foreign forces may, instead of ensuring security, lead that country to conflict and turn it into a battlefield.
The Russian diplomat added that any military base belonging to the opposing side, regardless of its location, is considered a legitimate target in the event of an armed conflict. He also said that Russia is in contact with all interested parties, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Pakistan, and is aware of ongoing efforts to bring Iran and the United States back to the negotiating table.
