Russia will not return its experts to the Bushehr plant without complete security guarantees

The CEO of the Russian state company Rosatom announced that Russia will not return its experts to the Bushehr nuclear plant until it receives a 100% guarantee for their security.

Alexey Likhachev said that following the recent war, Russia has withdrawn about 400 of its experts from the Bushehr plant, but 20 Russian specialists are still present at the plant and continue to cooperate with Iranian staff.

He added that the broad return of Russian forces will only take place when their complete security, including on transport routes, is guaranteed. According to Likhachev, until flights resume, personnel will be moved via land routes.

The Bushehr nuclear plant was targeted several times during the recent war, and the impact of projectiles around these facilities faced criticism from the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
