Russian Deputy Foreign Minister: Peace Agreement Should Prevent Ukraine’s NATO Membership

The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister says Russia seeks guarantees that NATO will keep Ukraine out of the alliance.

Alexander Grushko told the Russian media outlet Izvestia that Russia will demand security guarantees be part of the agreement.

He said part of these guarantees should include Ukraine’s neutral status and NATO countries’ refusal to admit it into the alliance.

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he will speak with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, as talks about a possible ceasefire in Ukraine’s three-year war continue.

Donald Trump said in a speech last evening that a lot has been done over the weekend, and we want to see if we can end this war.

He said we will talk about the land, we will talk about the power plants.
