Safar Harandi: If we had acted like Mossadegh, America would have destroyed the revolution
Mohammad Hossein Safar Harandi, a member of the Expediency Discernment Council, told Tasnim that the Islamic Republic never intended to sever relations with the United States; it was the Americans who cut off the relationship.
He attributed the root of the conflict to the coup of August 19, 1953, and said that if we had been as well-behaved as Mossadegh, America would have ended the revolution.
