Behzad Rahimi, the representative of Saqqez and Baneh in the Parliament, in an interview with Jamaran’s reporter, reacted to the killing of Mahsa Amini at the morality police station, stating

There was no problem with Mahsa Amini’s attire. If this is the case, they should confront everyone. If we go two districts higher in this very city of Tehran, the lack of hijab is much more evident. Why don’t they confront it there? And in the city center, they treated a girl from the provinces, who was unaware of these issues and was wearing a scarf and a long, conventional coat, in this way. I still say I do not know the reason or motive for confronting such attire.
