Saudi Arabia announces support from 14 countries for the proposal to form a maritime defense coalition

The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defense announced that the country hosted an international meeting to discuss the proposal for forming a multinational maritime defense coalition aimed at countering threats in the Bab-el-Mandeb, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.

According to the ministry, 14 countries have so far announced their support for this proposal, and several other countries are in the process of completing their internal approvals to join this coalition.

The Ministry of Defense of Saudi Arabia stated that the goal of this coalition is to protect international shipping routes and counter threats against global trade and maritime security.
