Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution: We cannot grant permission for a woman to sing in front of men.

Abdolhossein Khosropanah, Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, said: We live in the Islamic Republic, and in the Islamic Republic, religious principles are the criteria that must be considered in documents. We should not polarize society for a group of supporters or opponents and create challenges, especially in our society where national unity and cohesion are of great importance.

He continued by saying that regarding women’s performances, I must say that currently, in choir performances or concerts that are held, women are present and sing along.

However, a woman is not allowed to sing in gatherings where men are present.

Naturally, we cannot issue a permit for this in the music document either, because religious principles must also be observed in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.

Officials of the Islamic Republic consistently create obstacles for women’s presence in music and prevent them from appearing on stage in various ways.
