Sadigheh Vasmaghi has lost her eyesight in prison and is facing heart problems.

The lawyer of Sadigheh Vasmaghi, the detained Islamic scholar, expressed hope that his client would be released from prison next week.

Mahmoud Alizadeh Tabatabaei, the attorney, in an interview with Sharg Network, referred to the reports about Sadigheh Vasmaghi losing her eyesight due to being in prison and said Ms. Vasmaghi had completely lost her eyesight before imprisonment, and this issue is not related to the prison.

He continued, due to this issue, we requested a suspension of the sentence, which the forensic medicine agreed to, and we are waiting for the opinion of the prosecution.

Sadigheh Vasmaghi’s husband says the condition of this political prisoner in jail is not good, and she is facing heart palpitations and very high blood pressure, in addition to losing her eyesight.

Alizadeh Tabatabaei emphasized that according to the law, the prosecution should agree to Ms. Vasmaghi’s release due to her inability to endure the sentence and said Ms. Vasmaghi’s prison sentence was also 4 months, which we accepted the verdict, and 24 days of it were reduced.
