Subsidence of structures on the soil in the Achaemenid era in Marvdasht plain
The head of the Geomorphology Department of the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organization announced the subsidence of structures on the soil in the Achaemenid era in Marvdasht plain in an interview with ISNA news agency on Friday, August 3.
Iman Entezami Soltani stated in the interview that in the past 2 years, there has been a subsidence of 21 centimeters, and Achaemenid structures have also been affected by deep rock fissures. He further elaborated on the overall situation of the historical structures of Marvdasht. The main infrastructure of Achaemenid structures is on a rocky bedrock, unaffected by soil subsidence. However, structures located in the soil section have become vulnerable over time due to soil subsidence and the formation of cracks.
