Shariatmadari, the caretaker of Kayhan, is the man who withdraws for the benefit of another when he goes back on his word.
Hossein Shariatmadari, the caretaker of Kayhan newspaper, urged the candidates of the revolutionary front not to be intimidated and withdraw in favor of one of them, stating that a man is someone who sticks to his word, as per Ayatollah Khomeini’s saying.
In a note titled ‘A man is someone who sticks to his word,’ published on the second page of Kayhan newspaper on Thursday, he warned about the lack of coalition among the fundamentalist candidates and asked them not to allow a repeat of the 1392 presidential election scenario where Hassan Rouhani emerged victorious.
Mr. Shariatmadari, appointed by the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, wrote that the multiple candidates of the revolutionary front should not be psychologically manipulated, referencing the campaign tactics employed by those close to the reformists for Masoud Pezeshkian, insinuating that the revolutionary front candidates have appeared on the scene under the guise of proxy candidates.
Hossein Shariatmadari wrote that some candidates have announced during debates that they will stay in the field and should not interpret stepping aside in favor of another as a disregard for their previous statements.
The editor of Kayhan has emphasized that we evaluate Dr. Mr. along with his associates with a bad reputation in the circle of the revolution.
